Donated Goods

Joseph’s Coat is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-2:00 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY because we have a small space with limited storage. To make an appointment, please call 651-291-2472 between 9am and 3pm Monday through Thursday. Please do not leave donations outside.  It is VERY costly for us to dispose of dumped items.

We accept up to 4 small plastic bags and 1 small box of housewares per appointment. If you have more than this, let us know at the time of making the appointment. Please pack your items in smaller trash bags, or half-full larger bags. We have limited recycling, so please pack the fewest amount of boxes as possible.

We respectfully ask that all items be new or gently used, stain free, clean and in good repair. The standard at Joseph’s Coat is that if we would not wear or use an item, we do not ask our guests to do so either.

Needs List

• Clean, stain free Spring/Summer clothing (less than 5 years old) clothing for men, women and children
• T-shirts, socks and underwear (without stains please) new or gently used
• Outerwear appropriate for the season
• Adult backpacks, sleeping bags, duffle bags
• Shoes and boots
• Books for adults (novels, mysteries)
• Children’s games, toys and books
• Candles
• Hygiene products: soap or body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shaving soap cream, razors, foot powder, etc.
• Silverware
• Linens (sheets, bedding, towels)
• Unopened diapers and wipes
• Travel size toiletries
• Household items: pots and pans, glassware, dishes and silverware, small electric items, sheets, blankets, towels, bedspreads, rugs for the bathroom and kitchen, etc.
• Brown paper grocery bags with handles

• Space Heaters
• Electric blankets
• Used bed pillows
